Yahoo Movies Metadata Agent

$
0
0

This is a Metadata Agent for Yahoo Movies. It can be used as a single primary metadata agent, or work as a secondary agent for Freebase. This Agent collects English data: title, year, summary, content rating (MPAA), duration, genres1, originally available, studio, country, rating, director, cast and poster(s).

Source: https://github.com/sander1/Yahoo-Movies.bundle

Update 30 Jan, 2013

  • FIX: The agent will now grab all paragraphs from the summary text (instead of only the first one).

Update 6 Feb, 2013

  • FIX: Try 'In Theaters' year before year from the title. Fallback to year given to us by the scanner.

Installation

  • Unzip Yahoo-Movies.zip, this gives you a file/folder with the name Yahoo-Movies.bundle
    • Mac
      • Move Yahoo-Movies.bundle to ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins. The easiest way to find this folder is to use the Go to folder... option in the Go menu of the Finder.
        48377923.png
~ is your home folder. If you can't find your Library folder, have a look at OS X Lion: Where did my Library go?
    • Windows
      • Move Yahoo-Movies.bundle to the Plug-ins folder: right-click the Plex Media Server icon in the system tray and open the Plug-ins folder
        screenshot20121221at161.jpg
    • Linux (Ubuntu)
      • Move Yahoo-Movies.bundle to /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins
      • cd "/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins"
      • sudo chown -R plex:plex Yahoo-Movies.bundle
  • Restart Plex Media Server
On Mac and Windows: just quit and start again
On Linux (Ubuntu): sudo service plexmediaserver restart
  • Open Plex/Web (sometimes still named "Media Manager") and go to Settings. Go to Agents and select Movies. You can use Yahoo Movies as a primary agent...
    36517779.png
...or add it as a secondary agent to the list under Freebase:
    75010759.png

1 Genres are limited to: Action, Adventure, Animated, Comedy, Crime, Drama, Family, Fantasy, Foreign, Horror, Musical, Romance, Sci-Fi, Thriller, War

iTunes Store MetaData?

I don't know if this has been asked before and a basic search did not turn up any results. But any thoughts on adding an iTunes Store Metadata agent? There is a pretty good iTunes Store Search API that returns a good amount of data needed including the iTunes Store Artwork.

For example a search for Harry (Harry Potter) (truncated for show):

**URL: ** http://ax.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStoreServices.woa/wa/wsSearch?term=harry&country=us

Output:

This seems to be pretty well documented here:

and implemented here:

This would be extremely useful for the upcoming ATV App especially if we can figure out the Parallax artwork URL.

Fixing TV Show Metadata That "Won't Fix"

$

I know the title is confusing but hear me out ...

**TL;DR **
- my season 1 episodes of the Simpsons are correctly matched on everything BUT the title ... deleting/unmatching/rematching/fixing ... i've tried them all but no matter what i seem to do - the title (and sort) match with season 5 even though the descriptions are correct.

Long Version
i've got about 10 seasons worth of simpsons episodes and i noticed that season 5 wasn't grabbing the data properly b/c I had screwy naming conventions going on with the files. I updated the file names and refreshed my directory. Unfortunately, I renamed them
Simpsons S01E01 ---Insert Season 5 Episode Name---
Simpsons S01E02 ---Insert Season 5 Episode Name---

and so forth ... see the problem?

So I went back and fix that
Simpsons S05E01 ---Insert Season 5 Episode Name---

and that fixed the problem with season 5, however ... when i go to look at season 1 - all of the episodes are correct save for 2 fields: name and sort name. Deleting the files and then restoring them didn't do the trick, unmatching and then matching the entire series didn't do the trick, then i renamed the metadata in those fields using the browser... set those fields back to unlocked and guess what? it replaced them with the names of the season 5 episodes.

So for now, I'm just editing them and locking the fields but i sure as heck would like to know what's wrong and what's going on.

Tv show not showing up

Hi guys , cant find this question on here , has there been a problem with the amount of tv shows you can have on your server. up untill now i have not had a single problem , but the last two tv shows i added do not show up , both are exactly labeled like all the rest , the video format is the same. Is there a limit on total number of tv shows , This has happened after the last update, but i dont know if thats a coincidence.

[adult] data18.com Metadata Agent - Release

Both bundles are now available from the Unsupported Appstore.

Using the Unsupported Appstore is the easiest way to install and maintain this bundle.

Data18.bundle:

This metadata agent will grab Movie (Full feature) metadata from http://www.data18.com/movies/

Github: repository download (unzip and rename to Data18.bundle)

Usage notes are in the repository

  • Edit 2013-08-29: MKV has re-written the code.
  • Edit 2013-06-02: New Version. Added support for Artwork (random "Scene" content will be downloaded). Increased logging. Added URL to Tagline.
  • Edit 2013-04-13 : New Version. Slight change to the search parameter to fix a bug.
  • Edit 2013-04-13 : New Version. Better Logging and poster handling.
  • Edit 2013-04-11 : new version.  Fixed bug when no date was present. Fixed sort scoring to include year.

Data18-Content.bundle:

This metadata agent will grab Content (Web-Movies from sites like X-Art, Kink, etc) metadata from http://www.data18.com/content/

Filename titles must match data18 titles.
Some content will not download all metadata (for example, the summary will not download).
Github: repository download (unzip and rename to Data18-Content.bundle)

  • Edit 2013-06-02: New Version. Changed search match to look for "content" instead of update in url of search results. This provides a fix when Data18.com hides videos in "Gallery" updates.
  • Edit 2013-06-02: New Version. Added better support for Artwork (random "Scene" content will also be downloaded). Increased logging. Added URL to Tagline. All metadata should now comply to recent changes on the Data18 site.
  • Edit 2013-05-30 : New Version. Data18 changed the layout of Content pages...again.  This should fix everything that broke.[attachment=17071:Data18-Content.bundle.zip]
  • Edit 2013-05-16 : New Version. Data18 changed the layout of Content pages.  This should fix everything that broke.
  • Edit 2013-04-13 : New Version. Bug fix regarding posters.
  • New AGENT: data18-content.  For clips from sites like x-art. Naming must match data18.com titles.

Thanks to spanishu for requesting in this thread and for testing.  Thanks to sander1 for the referer fix!

Thanks to vofik for providing the Excalibur Films agent that this agent was based on.

Thanks to MKV for re-writing the code!

Hi!

Does anyone know of a working Adult Metadata agent that will accurately identify gay titles?

I have tried most of the straight ones that have a few gay titles but most return way off titles.

Thanks

Metadata agents for exported XBMC library

If you already have metadata in XBMC, and would like to use that in Plex.

I took the code posted by Harley Hooligan, and changed it to work with my files.

In XBMC, go in Settings > Videos > Library > Export Video Library. Choose Separate files & Export Thumbnails and fanart, and optionally overwrite existing files.
This will create .nfo & .jpg files for your TV Shows and Movies, in the appropriate directories.

The following Plex Plug-ins will then import those into your Plex library.

To use them in Plex, first install them: unzip both files, rename them to end with .bundle, and move both .bundle packages into ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/

Image%202012.04.14%206:40:12%20.png

Then, create a new section (or edit an existing one), and choose "XBMC .nfo importer" as the Primary metadata agent.

Image%202012.04.14%206:56:06%20.png or Image%202012.04.14%207:02:42%20.png

Note: For TV Shows sections, the folder(s) you choose in your section settings should be a folder that contains TV shows folders. i.e. adding a folder that contains media files will NOT work!

Good:
Screen%20Shot%202012-07-08%20at%2011.16.

Bad:
Screen%20Shot%202012-07-08%20at%2011.18.

What it will import:
- Title, summary, tagline, rating, year, director, actors, genre, etc. from .nfo files.
- Artwork files: posters, banners & fanarts.

[Release] HTTP Anidb Metadata Agent (HAMA)

I am officially forking the HTTP Anidb Metadata Agent (HAMA) made by Atomicstraberry and posted here: http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/66918-release-http-anidb-metadata-agent-hama/After having concerted with him by mail, i will take over but give due feedback, as he created it, and i would and could not have done it without his code first, as i didn't know Python before. Great language by hte way!!!
As discussed with him:

  • His name will always be part of the header as he created it and was kind enough to let me take over
  • I put the source on GIT: https://github.com/ZeroQI/Hama . i am new to git, so please be understanding...
  • I create a new thread to be able to control the new releases on this first post [this one]

The readme is located here:https://github.com/ZeroQI/Hama/blob/master/README.mdIt will indicate the changes since v0.4Major changes:

  • Title search 100% local using AniDB title database XML file.
  • TVDB and AniDB XML serie page download cached a week by default
  • TVDB Poster by default, downloading AniDB unique poster only if no TVDB poster present
  • ScudLee XML mapping file to convert AniDB id to TVDB id without TVDB search needed (removed from )
  • Studio when missing in AniDB
  • Collection for Movie sets from XML mapping file (and matching with AniDB related anime fields)
  • Using episode summary from TVDB when present
  • HTML links to the TVDB and AniDB in Serie and episode page (off by default)
  • Warning messages for community improvement (missing anidb poster, missing TVDB en poster, missing episode summary, studio variable in AniDB AND mappingfile, theTVDB id missing from mapping file)
  • Themes songs 30s, from plex server using tvdb id [http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/TV_Themes]

This should prevent AniDB banning, since no search is done, no poster is downloaded, just the serie XML by ID.I will modify this post with any new releases, i am polishing out the bugs for now:

  • Testing speed and accuracy. need information on performance
  • Tweaking HTML links when TVDB id not in list, alerts when episode summary empty, etc...
  • Test serie/movie within both serie and movie folder settings

You can browse the source code and replace it in place of v0.4 as a beta, but the XML files need to be in Resources folder at the same level as code one

See github readme, that's the most recent one

How it works

==========

Scanners show the files or not in plex. if it's not showing, it's the scanner fault

Agent when files are showing update the metadata. This agent:

. match the title to the AniDB Database locally (no online query to AnidDB to prevent getting banned for a day). It use synonyms, and search titles in all languages. you can select the language order in plugin settings

. use xml matching table to fing the TVDB serie ID.

. use posters from ANiDB (off by default, because they are crap but the only source for Hentai posters) or by default TVDB (use high res constant resolution posters, but do not store Hentai, have fanart and seasons posters as well)

. The XML mapping file comes from the XBMC AniDB mod plugin and all xmls are cached 2 weeks and downloaded automatically

. Use TheTVDB for Anime Episode summaries (AniDB seem to not use summaries for episodes)

. Use theme songs from Plex server (backlog of 2 years, no need to update themes for now) indexed on thetvdb id. I store them locally using the anidb id if you want to create your own packages (and share?) and therefore you can have the right season music theme song...

. logs like missing episodes are generated, also contain links to update episode summaries and missing posters... Give back digitally to the community...

The XMLs are downloaded (cached for 2 weeks) and a copy is saved here and used in case of internet issue

. anime-titles.xml, the AniDB title database, part of the AniDB HTTP API : http://anidb.net/api...e-titles.xml.gz decompressed (xml extension). this is parsed locally to find serie title matches

. anime-list-master.xml   ScudLee's AniDB to TVDB xml mapping file, give studio and episode mapping list for te episode overview, downloaded from https://raw.github.c...list-master.xml

. anime-movieset-list.xml ScudLee's movie collection (Because XBMC only support movie collection and the files were develloped for AniDB mod XBMC plugin), downloaded from https://raw.github.c...vieset-list.xml

Agents can only write data in data folder as binary objects or as dictionaries, but cannot create folders unfortunately (if i am wrong, let me know)
I use theses folders to cache all pictures, theme songs, since they are not cached by plex.
This way, even if you recreate the whole Plex anime folder entry, you do not have to download the same file again.

Known Issues:
===========

People names in Kanji

Producers and actors names are using romaji name like anidb does. I have been requested for an option in Kanji
Unfortunatly in AniDB serie XML (example: http://api.anidb.net...over=1&aid=2656), the creator names are like that:
<creators>
<name id="735" type="Animation Work">Gonzo</name>
<name id="1793" type="Character Design">Iijima Hiroya</name>
<name id="102" type="Direction">Kizaki Fuminori</name>
<name id="1793" type="Chief Animation Direction">Iijima Hiroya</name>
<name id="22332" type="Music">The RZA</name>
<name id="11136" type="Original Work">Okazaki Takashi</name>
</creators>
I would have to process one more XML [http://anidb.net/per...&creatorid=6692] to translate it in kanji, which means one more access to AniDB for each. I could create a local (or remote web) cache but for now that would require too much coding at the time. if an xml existed out of anidb with the name i would probably use it

Series with year in title

Plex remove the year from the scanner side before Hama receive it, i need to check if i could correct it by modding the scanner not to drop the year

Hentai with no poster?

TVDB doesn't list sport and porn so hentai will not be listed there, so no fanart, no banner, no (season) posters and no episode summary. The same happens if no tvdb entry is there, or if not in the mapping file yet.

Movies not being detected

You did use the serie agent for a movie didn't you ?
It's not showing so it's a scanner issue you dope.... Just put 01 after the movie name and it will be picked up and yes my wonderful agent manage this case, but will gather only serie type of information (no producer)

Test series name
================
   . Semi-colon: Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, Myself;Yourself
. Year: KissXSis (2010), Black Rock Shooter (2012), Fate Zero (2012), Seitokai Yakuindomo (2011), Tenjou Tenge (2005)
   . Exclamation mark: K-On!, K-On!!
   . Apostrophe: Seitokai Yakuindomo'
   . Love Live 2
   . Terra e..
. Movies: Gekijouban Shakugan no Shana, Kowarekake no Orgel, Sora no Otoshimono Project Pink
. Strange" has no match and no semicolon to blame
. "Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta" had no tvdb match like "Onee-chan ga kita", "Jigoku Sensei Nube" and "Corpse Party Tortured Souls".

To Do
=====
. Package of Studio Logos (see post here). Will not work on that but somebody else can
. Package of Theme Songs supported, but none exist (name convention: anidbid.mp3). Plex use 30s songs but use seasons, so a package of songs capped at 30s should share the same legality. will not work on that but local loading works
. Get Plex to not crash when writing to Agent Data folders, but even with try except, it fails if folders not created already so outside my reach and plex has to fix

Sub-Zero - Subtitles done right

logo

Current version: 1.2.11.180

Introduction

Hey there,

Some of you may have followed the recent development on the original Subliminal.bundle by @bramwalet.

I've made some serious changes, improvements and bugfixes to Subliminal.bundle during the last few weeks, with the help of some very nice people such as @PMAdmin, @chopeta, @BlueToxic and others.

As the direction of this project has moved a long way, I thought it was time to evolve from simply being a personal fork of Subliminal.bundle to something more dedicated.

Plugin Description

Sub-Zero aims to solve your subtitle problems by automatically downloading the hopefully best subtitles there are, for your individual video file.

Subtitles are a problem? Yep, they definitely are. I myself use this plugin on a daily basis as my girlfriend has a serious hearing condition where subtitles help us to be able to watch our favourite TV series and movies together. Subtitles pose a generic struggle: matching your media file perfectly. This is as hard as it gets. Thankfully there are a bunch of libraries and services out there, that help with that.

Sub-Zero is far from being perfect, but with recent development and planned features, we're really getting there.

Its core is based on the works of Diaoul, who created the subliminal library, as well as enzyme, to parse MKV metadata. In addition to that Sub-Zero uses the extremely well-made guessit library made by wackou.

Sub-Zero still is under heavy development and is currently approaching a stable release. To be able to get there, I need you to report bugs and tell me your opinion on new features.

It currently supports the following subtitle providers:

TidyGenres plex app install?

$

Hi all,
I have read about the benefits of using the TidyGenre plex app to reduce the movie genres etc within plex. I have downloaded a file called TidyGenres.plexapp but dont know how to install it. I have tried creating a folder in the plex apps folder called TidyGenres.bundle and placed it in there but it doesnt show up in plex. I also tried creating a subfolder called Contents and moved it in there but it still doesnt show up. I am obviously missing something here.

Any help in achieving the goal of sorting out and reducing the genres list would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Plex not displaying metadata that is available from agents?

$

Hi

Plex beautifully and automatically displays the metadata for most of my Movies and TV Shows but not all. The strange thing is that when I click on fix incorrect match it either finds the correct metadata instantly or it does so when I click on custom search and manually select TheMovieDB instead of Freebase. Further, I have all the default agents enabled as below, and it would make sense to me Plex should try TheMovieDB automatically if there are no hits on Freebase?

In Settings >> Agents >> Movies >> Personal media >> I have Personal Media and Local Media Assets (movies) enabled.

In Settings >> Agents >> Movies >> Freebase >> I have everything enabled with The Movie Database at the top of the list and Freebase second

In Settings >> Agents >> Movies >> The Movie Database >> I have everything enabled with The Movie Database at the top of the list

In Settings >> Agents >> TV Shows >> Personal Media Shows >> Personal Media shows and Local Media Assets (TV) are enabled

In Settings >> Agents >> TV Shows >> TheTVDB >> All agents are enabled with Local Media Assets (TV) at the top followed by TheTVDB.

Examples of videos in Movies not working for me are:

Adam Hills Stands Up Live (Not in Freebase but available from TheMovieDB)

The Gathering Storm (Two matches in Freebase, it is the 2002 version)

Jimmy Carr: Laughing and Joking (Three matches in Freebase, but only one exactly matching the name short of the year)

An example of a TV Show is Backchat with Jack Whitehall & His Dad (Found instantly when I clicked on fix incorrect match)

I have run multiple deep scans and manual refreshes on all problem media.

Please advise what I am doing wrong or how I can fix the problem?

I have multiple series that are being combined in the meta data. This may be a scanner issue, I don't think so but I really don't know what is happening.

An example

I have two series:
Anime/School Rumble/School Rumble - E01 - The New School Year! Be Still My Heart! Love Letter Mayhem! Warp Speed on a Bike!
Anime/School Rumble Ni Gakki/School Rumble 2nd Semester - E01 - Scramble Reloaded! Superstar Request! Scandalous Restart!

Both have 26 episodes

When it first starts scanning it will show two posters (the actual picture not yet loaded) then as it continues scanning it will get rid of one.

If I click on the series it will only show the episodes from the first set and have a blue circled 2 in the corner indicating that there are multiple version of the same episode.

Help.

TheTVDB not loading Metadata after download.

I have noticed a problem with TheTVDB metadata agent lately. For some reason, When I add a new episode to an existing show or when I add a new show to my TV folder, the metadata agent matches the show correctly and downloads the metadata (or at least it is reported as downloading in the activity log). But for some reason, the metadata is never loaded so the show(s) just have a grayed out icon and the episodes are just listed as "Episode 1, Episode 2, etc. An episode here and there isn't difficult to manually enter the episode information but adding a new show with many episodes is. Just as a test, I changed the metadata agent to TheMovieDB and re-scanned the folder. Everything was correctly identified, the metadata was downloaded, and then it was loaded so all of my shows display correctly (with one exception... MythBusters). TheTVDB treats that show as having multiple seasons per calendar year so instead of Season 1, Season 2, etc. it is Season 2003, Season 2004, etc. That in itself isn't such a big deal except I would have to rename every episode (again) to have TheMovieDB metadata agent correctly identify the episodes. For some reason, TheMovieDB and TheTVDB have the episodes listed in different orders. I would therefore have to figure out which episode is which in addition to renaming each of them. A very time consuming process to say the least. It would be MUCH easier if I could get the problem with TheTVDB metadata agent figured out and ultimately corrected. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

What does Freebase agent do exactly?

Does Freebase pull summary information itself or it pulls summary through other agents?

Does it pull poster too?

THETVDB and PLEX

I have recently discovered that THETVDB offers two distinct ordering options for tv series. I will use STAR TREK TNG as an example, but I'm sure there are many more. In Season 1, the very first episode is a double episode. (1 hr 31 min). THETVDB, along with a few other sites which THETVDB admin consider as valid sources, list this episode as TWO episodes(even though aired on same date!). This throws off the sequence of the entire series, and one is forced to rename each episode so that PLEX will scrape the info properly. When I confronted the admin of THETVDB in their forums, I was told that the series may have been repackaged by  the studio for  DVD release. Ultimately, they refused to remove episode 2 from their DB. The effect on thousands of users is immense, IMHO. Their response was to utilize the DVD ordering, which, when used, shows episode 2 as 1.2 (minor kludge). This is fine when showing the episode list on their web site, but what about PLEX? How does one instruct the PMS to use DVD order instead of AIRED DATE order?

Many of us spent huge amounts of money to purchase LG (possibly other manufacturers) smart TV's which use the PLEX server. (This is how I was introduced to the PLEX media server in the first place.) One would think that such options and fine tuning would have been taken care of when these were first designed.... ? If this is the case, it would be important to indicate this somewhere in the PLEX naming convention guide. If not, then such an option should exist. I am frustrated by THETVDB's attitude and lack of understanding, and it seems as though PLEX needs to develop an option to resolve this issue. Further, I find IMDB to be a much more reliable source, contrary to the opinions of THETVDB admins, and welcome any developments which would use their DB instead of THETVDB.

Is there a way to use last.fm agent for Artists and Personal Media Artists for Albums?

I've noticed that the last.fm scanner frequently messes up album info (track times, titles, etc), but usually manages to retrieve useful artist information.

Seeing as there's no way to fix last.fm, is there a way to configure/hack Plex to use the last.fm agent for Artist information while using the Personal Media Artists agent for the Album info?

At the moment, it seems you can only select one agent and have it do both tasks...

I found an old Plex Musicbrainz agent, but I couldn't get it to do anything useful.

I had a look at how XBMC does it, and it uses separate agents for Album info and Artist info. Also, they have super "Universal Scrapers" that pull really good info from a variety of sources (i.e. Musicbrainz and Discogs, rather than the mess that is last.fm).

Is anything like this in the works?

If not, I'll have a bit of a dig around in the scripts and see if I can combine the behaviour of the two Plex scanners into something useful...

Hello everybody,

I am experimenting with the XBMCnfoMoviesImporter and very happy with the results except for strange internation characters like é à ë etc...

My movie "Rien á Déclarer" appears now as

In the nfo file, text is OK

Is there a way to let this agent interpret international characters correct?

kind regards,
Bart

[REL] Legendas.tv Subtitle Agent

It's a subtitle agent that uses Legendas.tv as its source, there really isn't much to say about it.
It started for personal use, but since I got so many messages asking about it every time I mentioned it in a post I figured it wouldn't hurt to polish the code a little so other people could use it.

Still a work in progress, and probably will stay like that for a long time because every now and then I find something that needs tweaking.
